Internal Controls in the Digital Age

PwC office
7 Straits View, Marina One, East Tower, Level 12, Singapore 018936

As the world becomes more digitally enabled, artificial intelligence (AI) will play a critical role in helping manage control and compliance in organisations of the future. Yet, control and compliance functions are struggling to monitor the volume of transactions and the sophistication of those seeking to breach controls. It is therefore timely to consider emerging technologies and how they can help in creating a new generation of internal controls systems with a higher degree of sophistication, powered by AI and informed by analytics.

To investigate this further, a roundtable discussion was conducted in October 2018. This was followed up with quantitative and qualitative research – basically to gather views on what the Finance and Internal Audit functions envision regarding the future state of internal controls up to 2025.

ACCA and PwC will be presenting and sharing these exciting findings and research in the upcoming Smart Finance event on 21 Feb 2019. Register for this event and join in the discussions on how internal control systems will evolve.
